        Yow! That's awful!
        Is your roommate a magician? THe reason I ask is that most magicians I 
know find it much easier to room with someone who will at least understand & 
respect why you might need such privacy. IMHO, this is the most basic aspect 
of the temple- remembering the first duty of a true man or woman... :)
        I wish I had a solution for you. Oh- a couple of the houses down the 
driveway from us, closer to the lake, ar coming up for rent, if you care to 
move... course, the commute would be a bitch... :>

one (temporary) magician roommate, (temp. because he's a quake victim), and 
the others are non-magicians.  they have some understanding of the need for 
privacy, but i guess the problem comes up when they don't know what i'm up 
to. the other problem is that my bedroom/temple space is the noisiest room in 
the house.  (though i have a fireplace in my bedroom, so i've been loathe to 
switch rooms)  the situation has presented an ongoing problem, though.  at 
this point, i'm hoping to be leaving for NZ within the next few weeks, and 
i'm planning on moving shortly after i get back.

don't tempt me!  seriously, when are those houses going to be available?  i am 
planning on leaving l.a., though i don't know how soon.  and, as you know, i 
love that area that you're in!
