I personally have decided I just like working with the raw manuscripts, rather than working out a systematic phonetic key like the GD uses. I'm still not entirely certain about the "real" relationship between planets and Seniors, and I'm getting less certain every day. In the system of correspondences I'm working with at the moment, the Seniors each represent a "vertical" flow of power that crosses all the planetary spheres. Corresponding letters in each Senior's name represent a sub-section of one of the planetary spheres. The most comprehensive is probably in the Church Of Inner Light (or whatever it was called) book, The Egyptian Tarot, by CC Zain. This assigns a note to each major Trump, and thus (by extrapolation) to every Path on the Tree of Life. Denning and Phillips, in Planetary Magick, also assign tones to each Planet, and thus to each Sephiroth, which tonality is used in the rituals, even if it is just setting the pitches for intoning the Sacred Vowels in the Pythagorean system. Admittedly, sometimes working out the "melody" for a given Name can end up sounding like Schoenberg writing on drugs, but some pretty haunting mantras can result, especially if one starts singing the tones and then embellishing (sort of an astral version of the five notes from Close Encounters (g)). And it was helpful in one case I had recently where I was doing a meditation after invoking a particular planetary force, and all of a sudden got this pretty litle five-note melody handed to me, whih turned out to be pretty meaningful when I worked out which forces its individual tones corresponded to. Greetings All: I am in the finishing stages of writing an essay on pronunciation of the Enochian Calls according to Dee's original notes. It will run approximately 40 pps (8 1/2 x 11, single sided), and will compare the Geoffrey James and Aurum Solis versions with Dee's original, as well as discussing Donald Laycock's pronunciation guide, and giving a phonetically spelled version of all 19 Calls. Anyone interested in a copy when it's done, just drop me a line. Unfortunately, I will be forced to ask for costs -somewhere around $5- for copying and postage. I know that seems like a lot for such a small paper, but I simply can't afford to pay those costs for everyone. I will also be making the file available (in WordPerfect 5.1 version only -- no way to get all the formatting and footnotes, etc, into an ASCII file) on Arena of Anon and BaphoNet, and anyone is free to d/l and copy it from them. There's no restriction on distribution, just don't publish it and make a million dollars without cutting me in on the deal!
