THE RITUAL OF THE SPACE MARKS FROM THE K.O.T.O. IN LONDON The Space-Marks Banishing Ritual was developed by Soror Andahadna (Nema), and aranged by Frater Aossic-Aiwass, O.H.O. of the O.T.O. - London. This author initially discovered the rite in the published works of Horus-Maat Lodge presented by Fra. Nodens, and immediately took it to heart. This extremely effective ritual permits clarity of reception/transmission of subtle influences coming from and go-ing to other planes of being. It also provides a cleansed area from which to work Double Current rites, such as the Feast of the Hive, as well as being effective for experimental Lovecraftian rites, an example being those contained within the various published versions of the Necronomicon. The author has found this rite to be effective while exploring the Qabalahs of Besqul within the Tunnels of Qulielfi, where the body of the unwritten Necronomicon resides. Liber AL I. v. 52 states - "If this be not aright; if ye confound the space-marks, saying: They are one, or saying, They are many; if the ritual be not ever unto me; then expect the direful judgements of Ra- Hoor-Khuit!" In practical operation, the Priest or Priestess of Maat, traces a vertical "X" with sword-point at each of the compass-points during this Rite. The sword is the magickal weapon of choice since it directly corresponds to Yetzirah, the Zoharic World of the Astral, where the operation takes place. One begins in the SOUTH and words counter clockwise. The South is an especially magickal area bearing a unique relationship to the magickian working with the Double (i.e. Horus-Maat) Current. Kenneth Grant (1977) explains this relating it to the ancient Draconian Mysteries of Khem as follows "...the heat of Set was symbolized by the blackening or reddening power of the sun in the south, also by Sothis the star which announced the periodic inundation of the Nile, mystically interpreted as a phenomenon of the Feminine mysteries." This connection with the Sanctuary of the Gnosis and the Ophidian Current should be readily apparent to initiates. Associated directly with the South as the source of heat is Sothis, aka Sirius, the original "bornless" or "headless" one to which magickal rites are still practiced today by the Dogon in the African state of Mali as well as modern magickians world-wide. The spaces between the four cardinal points are a powerful source for reactivating what A.O. Spare termed `ancient atavisms' Methods of activating the resurgence of these ancient atavisms form the basis of the Zos Kia Cultus and can be gleamed [sic] from various Thelemic writings, especially those of Grant and Spare. Portions of the North and South are very old; it should not be overlooked that atavisms activated there will also emerge when properly called upon at the appropriate time. Activating these atavisms produces a very powerful energy of an ancient origin which the magickian may utilize during the rite. This rite produces an eightfold cross. The relationship of this cross to the `inbetweenness concepts' developed by Spare is something to meditate upon. This eightfold cross is the union of the four Cardinal compass points with those of the "inbetweenness concepts." i.e. the cross quarters, and is also related to Octinomos, the Master Magickian. God names to be vibrated at selected compass points, charging the "X" with Serpent Fire are: S: Shaitan SE: Hoor-Paar-Kraat E: Ra-Hoor-Khuit NE: Hadit N: Nuit NW: Maat W: Babalon SE: Aiwass A Salutation of the Space-Marks Let the Adept utter the proclaimation in the following manner: S: (Shaitan) Here is the SOUTH wherein it is said that peacocks strange beings of monstrous speech wander. Here ruleth Shaitan, Lord of the Infernal Depths. His is the serpent encoiled about the heart-stone of Space. I invoke the forces of lightning to cleave this womb of night. SE (Hoor-Paar-Kraat) I call to the Babe within the egg of blue - gatherer of the dream unto its yolk. I give blessings and offerings unto the formula of Silence before the fleshing Word. E: (Ra-Hoor-Khuit) Upon twin horizons alightest the Golden Hawk of Dawn. here conquers the rising Child Crowned. I sing praise before the Ordered Temple of the uplifted Word: as it is written: Ra-Hoor-Kuit hath taken his seat in the East at the Equinox of the Gods. NE: (Hadit) Here abideth lord Hadit; everywhere the center and known never. Herein is found the worshipper - the heart and tongue of She who is Not. May the black flame council with truth and balance. N: (Nuit) I call to the jeweled one arched above; triple-veiled in the expanse of her domain, our Lady of the stars whose word is six and fifty. Woman of mysterious Lust; mother of initiations; dancer of motionless pirouettes; let her find in me the gift of one particle of dust. NW: (Maat) There cometh the daughter who is to come. The Fool's Harlequin who balances currents of becoming with those of un-becoming. Hers is the secret law of change: joy and dissolution are the kisses of her weigh. W: (Babalon) Here rideth the Whore Babalon upon the beast of seven heads that the eighth may also be found. Hers is the chalice of sunset. May she seek in me offerings of co-mingling - dialogues of fire and water within the wine of night. SW: (AIWASS) I call the name of Aiwass-minister of this Age of air and son. With the voice of Thelema and Agape I seek understanding, uniting genius with the prophet's word of Go-ing. By the children-priests of Horus/Maat: With the words: ABRAHADABRA - IPSOS -Io PAN ! so mote it be. This rite as previously stated is very appropriate for full blown magickal operations. However, it should not be used strictly for this purpose. As a banishing rite it should be included among the magickians arsenal of rituals.
