WELCOME TO GOD'S ANIMAL KINGDOM Not long ago I began thinking about all the various animals and insects mentioned in the Scriptures and began a study of God's animal kingdom. In all of the files included with this word study, I used a bible program by Bible Research Systems in Austin, Texas called "The Word Processor." Although the Bible program is incredibly fast when employing a word search and index creation, I still spent many long hours searching the Scriptures. At first I included all animals in a generic file which were related. For example, ADDER, VIPER, ASP, and the like in a file called "SNAKES." Later I decided to list animals individually for the student's benefit. In another words, I offer both the generic file "CATTLE" and several additional files as COW, KINE, HIND, and CALF for expanded Biblical study. I decided, however, to omit such generic terms as BEAST, CREEPING THINGS, and FLOCK. Thus I have provided over one hundred files to enable you to examine as many Biblical references to God's animal kingdom as possible. The particular Bible program I employed uses only three letters to designate a given book of the Bible. For example, GEN for Genesis, PSA for the Psalms, and 1KI for I Kings. I elected to leave these abbreviations as they were. I likewise did not use the Greek and Hebrew original words but rather the King James words. This, of course, creates some difficulty in acquiring a full understanding of just exactly which animal may have been referred to by the inspired writers. Since this is not a complete study but rather a place where the student may begin, I have opted not to fully translate each and every Biblical reference. I will, however, include a partial list of some of the animals listed in the study at the end of this document file. Although I have attempted to locate and index every animal and inset mentioned in the Scriptures, I wouldn't be at all surprised if I missed some. It's a big Book! If you find some I overlooked, please let me know either by mail or by calling my BBS in order that I might update the study. It is also available via file request. Call for the filename of ZOO.ZIP. The file is over 200K in size and at 2400 baud will take more than 18 minutes to download. As of June 1990, ZOO.ZIP should contain this documentation file and 110 animal filenames. The files included in this study are donated to the public domain and I trust no one will try and make money off of this gift to the Body of Christ. It may be uploaded to bulletin boards without permission but I request all files, including this documentation, remain together. If you discover any errors or would like to make additions to the study, please contact me. Enjoy your study of God's animal kingdom. Phil Scovell P.O.
